Trust Yourself: Witchy Hot Takes Jan 11-17th

This week the moon is focusing on your emotional health, feelings, and trust.  Use the moon’s energy to work on trusting yourself and your instincts.

Welcome to this week’s Weekly Witchy Hot Takes!

I’ve changed the format these past couple of weeks while I try to figure out some production glitches. Don’t worry, I will be back face-to-face with you soon.

Happy Birthday Capricorns! And for all of those born in January, your birthstone is garnet! Read Nikki’s new article on Garnet to learn all about its magical properties!

Moon News: Trust Yourself

The New Moon in Capricorn is on January 13th.

This is a great time to work on your routine. Build your daily magical practice (and please check out my latest article for ideas). Trust yourself and your inner wisdom. You know what values you hold true for you, so trust them and don’t play a game of follow the leader.
Also, ignore your haters. Remember the Dita Von Teese quote: “You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there’s still going to be somebody who hates peaches”.

The Moon then moves into a Waxing Crescent in Aquarius on January 14th.

That Aquarius energy brings a love of freedom, especially a love of emotional freedom. But use this energy to explore your feelings and emotions and to not be a slave to them. Use the Aquarian moon to make friends with your full range of emotions so you can experience true freedom.

The Moon then moves on into Pisces on January 16th.

Use the creative energy of the Pisces to explore all of your expressions: artistic, spiritual, and philosophical. Be open to your surroundings and see how you can use them to your benefit. Explore every part of your life and be an active participant in it, don’t just wait for things to happen. Trust that you know what you are doing and do it!

January Holidays

January 14th marks Thorrablot, a Norse Heathen celebration honoring Thor!

In honor of Thor, I’m posting my Grandma’s spice cookie recipe. These Icelandic cookies, eaten throughout the Norwegian Sea and Frisian Islands, are great in the morning with a cup of coffee, and can help keep you warm with their spice blend at night with a up of tea. Enjoy!

World Religion Day is January 17th! The National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’i founded this day in 1950. It is a day marked to encourage interfaith understanding and acceptance. After the events of this past week at the Capitol, I think understanding different faith paths is imperative to world peace.

See you next week for more Witchy Hot Takes!!

Until then,

Lora
